The Boundary Waters Canoe
Area Wilderness... an incredible expanse of pristine glacial lakes
and virgin forest stretching for 150 miles along the northeast
border of Minnesota. Part of Superior National Forest, the BWCAW is
federally protected as a wilderness preserve, with all but a very
few lakes designated as paddle only, no motors allowed. Overland
portages link the lakes, and canoes and gear are carried from one
lake to another, as the Voyageurs once did. Here are over one
million acres of unspoiled wilderness with unparalled sunsets. It is
a paradise for anglers and nature enthusiasts alike: 1200 miles of
canoe routes in harmony with abundant plants and wildlife -
including threatened and endangered wildlife. Come and experience
for yourself what beauty is all about; discover just how deafening
the silence can be...
