Eagle River, Wisconsin
You
really can't get a whole lot farther north and still be in the state of
Wisconsin... but when you get here, you may not want to leave; it is the
Northwoods at its very best. Nicely nestled up against a chain of
28 lakes -- the largest chain of freshwater lakes in the world -- and
very close to the headwaters of the Wisconsin River, Eagle River offers
four seasons of fun and enjoyment. With thousands of acres of
Federal and state forest lands and many hundreds of lakes that range in
size from 50 to 4,000 acres, there is every opportunity for every kind
of water activity imaginable.
The fishing is absolutely
first class (musky, walleye, bass, northern pike, panfish...), the
water sports are endless and the peaceful places are infinite.
And if summer doesn't supply you with enough choices, come on up in
the winter and experience over 500 miles of well-groomed and
maintained snowmobile trails, as well as excellent cross country
skiing. There is plenty of world-class lodging and first class
dining venues, museums, special events, shopping and much, much
more. If you can't find it in the Eagle River area, you
probably can't find it. The friendliest folks in the
Northwoods are awaiting your arrival!

Tying
the Palomar Knot
Often mistakenly called
the Palmer Knot, the Palomar Knot is arguably one of the best knots
to know how to tie – especially for the avid fisherman. It is an
extremely easy knot to tie, exceptionally strong, and very popular
with bass fishermen for tying on jigs and worm hooks. It’s also the
only knot that will work with Fire Line®. |
