Phillips, Wisconsin
Price County is well known for its spectacular
natural beauty, including vast areas of national, state and county
forestland, and 18,000 acres of water. Located just about in the
center of the county is the quiet town of Phillips, Wisconsin.
Surrounded by the lush green of the Chequamegon National Forest,
the Flambeau State Forest and flowages created by logging dams that
were rebuilt in the 1930's under WPA, Phillips offers a serene
setting with plenty of beauty, awesome recreational opportunities,
friendly people and a wealth of history - much of it a result of the
Eastern European farmers who bought land and raised proud families
here after the logging industry of the late 1800's had moved on.
The pride is still obvious today in the buildings of the downtown
area, most constructed of red brick and built between 1894 and 1900.
Phillips is a place where you can enjoy all of your
favorite sports and outdoor activities all year ‘round amongst a number
of beautiful Wisconsin Lakes, including the chain consisting of Duroy,
Elk, Long, and Wilson. Take a stroll along the main street and
take in the architecture that dates back to the late 19th century. But
make sure you consider Phillips for your next vacation where "The Northwoods is Our Backyard" and we'd like to share it with you and
yours!

Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame (Hayward, WI)
The place was brimming with record fish of all varieties. But
there was so much more to see. One of my favorite displays
included an outboard motor that was identical to the first one that
I ever owned as a kid. I haven’t seen another since my mom
sold mine at a garage sale before we moved.
